Terms & Conditions

This document contains important information about the terms and conditions of the services provided by Press Pause. It is important that you read and understand this before agreeing. For any questions do not hesitate to contact me for clarifications.

  1. Procedure: The treatment will start with an intake/initial consultation. During this meeting I will discuss your reasons for seeking help and your goals and expectations for treatment.
  2. Confidentiality: I understand that during treatment private and sensitive information is often shared. All of my services are strictly confidential. All of the information that you share with me will remain between us.
  3. Overriding confidentiality: There are a few situations where information may be shared with others, namely:
  • Supervision and intervison: There may be times when I consult with outside sources about cases. In these cases, no personally identifiable information will be used to discuss this case. However, discussion topics will be used in order to ensure that I am getting and giving the best assistance possible. The persons with whom I discuss cases are legally bound to keep information confidential.
  • You give me a written consent to share certain information.
  • I am ordered to break confidentiality by the court of law.
  • There is information of such gravity that confidentiality cannot be maintained. This could mean for example that I find that you or someone else is in imminent danger.

In these situations I will normally first speak with you before breaching confidentiality.

  1. Privacy: I am obliged by law to create and to keep a file where I collect the data necessary to provide good care and services. The law requires me to keep this file for 15 years. It is your right to ask for a copy of this file. If you find inaccuracies in this file you can ask to change or supplement this information in the file. If you disagree with the information in the file you can ask to add your own statement to the file. It is your right to ask to (partially) destroy the file. I will comply with your request unless I believe that by doing so I might harm the interest of others, for example your partner or children. In this case I may (partially) reject your request. Please read our complete privacy policy here (link).
  2. NIP code of conduct: I follow the code of conduct from NIP.
  3. Emergency care: I cannot provide emergency care. In case of an emergency contact your GP (huisarts), the nearest emergency room or call 112.
  4. Gifts: I cannot accept or request any gifts from you. This way I can ensure that the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship are kept.
  5. Social media policy: I would appreciate it if you would want to leave me a positive review on Google or other rating sites. This helps me grow and helps other people find and trust me. However, please keep in mind that this might compromise your confidentiality. It is good to be wary of what information to share in such a review. It is possible to leave a general review without sharing too much personal information.
  6. Contact: I prefer contact via email. I always try to answer your emails within one working day. I cannot guarantee to answer your phone calls immediately as during working hours I give my attention to the sessions with clients and block all other distractions. Please leave a message and I will return to your call as soon as possible. You can send me a text message/WhatsApp, but I do not recommend using this method for anything confidential as privacy cannot be assured.
  7. Complaints: If you have any complaints about counseling and/or my actions I would appreciate it if you would voice this during the sessions. This may be a misunderstanding which can be solved by talking. You can also schedule a separate session with me, free of charge, to voice any concerns. You can also write an official complaint to the Central Bureau of Complaints Management in Care (CBKZ) via klachten@cbkz.nl or by registered mail: CBKZ, Answer number 570, 4200 WB Gorinchem. Complaints can be submitted digitally with the complaints form. You are welcome to use this model for any complaints.”

The below document outlines the policies and procedures relating to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information. It also offers information about how you can access your records and request correction of recorded personal information, if need be.

The brand

Claudia Réka Pócza-Dragano is the founder and owner of Press Pause, a private psychological practice that delivers psychological services. The delivery of psychological services includes tasks such as service planning, maintenance of records, monitoring, billing, and collecting unpaid accounts. There are no additional staff members at this time.

Personal information

Personal information is any information that relates to an identifiable individual, for example a person’s personal characteristics, health information, activities and beliefs/views. Personal information, specifically relating to health, is protected by the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).

Collection of personal information

The collection of your personal information is used to be able to provide you with quality, tailored psychological services. Additionally, I collect this information in order to contact you or your emergency contact (in case of emergencies). None of the data I collect will be shared with third parties, or used for research, unless I specifically obtain your informed consent. You have no obligation to give informed consent and not doing so, will not impact the services you receive.

Personal health information will be obtained directly from you, except in a few conditions. Namely,  when you have provided explicit consent for me to collect this information from others (e.g. a spouse or previous mental health professional) or when the law requires me to collect information without your consent (such as in emergency situations, where collecting such information is to prevent potential harm).

The website

The website www.press-pause.nl does not have any tracking, marketing or other types of cookies that collect information about you. The information you fill in when registering on our website is used for the purpose for which you gave it to us (e.g. to book a session, contact you and ensure you receive the appropriate service).

Your file

The law requires psychologists to create a file that keeps the necessary data needed to provide you with quality, appropriate care. This information may include (but is not limited to) session notes, results of any assessments, billing information and contact records. This file is the physical property of the practice and is to be kept by the practice for fifteen years by law. I need to retain your personal health information to ensure I can answer any questions you have about the services provided, and for my own accountability to external regulatory bodies.

These files are always locked away in restricted areas, or password protected on computers in order to safely store your information.

Your rights

Although the aforementioned file is the property of the practice, as a client, you have the right to ask for a copy of the information included in your file regardless of which form it exists (with a few exceptions). In this practice, both written and electronic records are kept. I reserve the right to charge a nominal fee for record copying.

If the record contains personal health information about another individual, this must be removed before you gain access to your copy.

If you find factual inaccuracies in the file, you can request to change or supplement this information. If you disagree with the information in your file, you can add your own statement to the file. You also have the right to request (limited) parts of your file to be destroyed. I reserve the right to keep these parts if I believe that the interests of others will be harmed as a result (i.e. spouse or children).

Confidentiality

I understand that during treatment private and sensitive information is often shared. As a psychologist, I have a shared duty of confidentiality and as such, all of my services are strictly confidential. All of the information that you share with me will remain between us, unless:

  1. You have given me consent to share certain information. As a rule, informed consent will be obtained in written form with a few exceptions. An example of such, is obtaining verbal consent due to time-sensitive circumstances followed-up by written consent at a better suited time.
  2. I am ordered to break confidentiality by the court of law.
  3. That the confidentiality of this information cannot be maintained in order to prevent harm.

I will normally first try to speak with you before breaching confidentiality.

Changes to the privacy statement

This privacy statement is subject to change. Any future changes will state the date that it was changed. As such, I recommend you regularly consult this privacy statement.
